Mission Statement
Small Beginnings Greater Ends works to improve the lives of those in need by making a positive difference in the hearts and lives of the disadvantaged in Guatemala.
We do what can to improve their physical situation, but most importantly we work to plant a seed of hope in their hearts by helping them understand that Jesus can bring real and lasting solutions to problems.
We believe that even though our beginnings may be small, we are making a difference by helping people achieve greater ends.
History
Small Beginnings Greater Ends was founded in 2007 By Timothy and Sharie Martiny as a continuation of their previous missionary work. To see what other work we've been involved in over the past 10 years, visit Where We've Been.

 Orphan Education and Job Training
There are thousands of children living in orphanages in Guatemala. Life is not easy for many of them. We are helping to prepare them for the difficult challenges they will face in the future.
By teaching the children to speak English, use computers, learn woodworking and carpentry, we are providing them with skill that will enable them to earn a better living. By teaching them the Bible we are giving them the means to make that life a happy one.

This past month Alan Russell came down for 10 days (he setup the carpentry workshop at Hogar Rafael Ayau) and we worked with the girls on a number of projects, they learned to make pens on the lathe, taught them the basics of how mortensen tenon and dovetail joints. This month we also finished the entertainment for the orphanage and 20 mahogany bedside tables for the guest rooms.
We also continued our weekly classes at Fundaninos, teaching English, typing and Bible classes to all the children and more advanced computer training for the older students.

Other Mission Work

Many Guatemalans live off of less then $2 a day. We help to feed the hungry by collecting donated food and distributing it to those in need at orphanages and the city garbage dump.
Once a year we also help host a free lunch for the hungry in the city park.

The Bible says in Mark 16:15 "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." As Missionaries we strive to make this an integral part of our lives, from Bible studies in our home to sharing the Gospel with everyone we meet.
We do our best to share the wonderful news of Salvation through Jesus Christ with everyone we meet.

Christmas Outreach

Our Christmas activities include hosting parties at orphanages, distributing gift bags to underprivilaged children and visiting hospitals and retirement homes to bring Christmas cheer to the patients and residents though our childrens performing group.

Whenever possible we assist the needy in Guatemlaa through the distribution of food, clothing, shoes, school supplies, diapers and other necessities.
